The Westwood Kehilla’s next cultural outing will be to the Getty Center to see Beyond the Nile: Egypt and the Classical World. The exhibition explores the profound influence that Egypt had on the Greeks and Romans, and brings together around 200 objects from museums and collections from across Europe and the United States.

We will also have the opportunity to see the installation Art of Three Faiths: a Torah, a Bible, and a Qur’an, which will feature the Getty’s latest acquisition, the Rothschild Pentateuch.

The tour will be on Sunday August 19th at 4 pm at the Getty Center (you are, of course, welcome to arrive earlier). Given the high volume of visitors to the Egypt show, numbers for this tour will be limited to 15. Please email David Saunders directly if you wish to sign up, at saunders_david@hotmail.com
